In this open panel and Q&A session, three senior journal editors will share their perspectives on what makes a strong submission, how peer review works, and current trends in higher education research publishing. Aimed at both early career and experienced scholars, this session supports strategic, informed decisions around selecting outlets and strengthening manuscripts.

Speakers:

  • A/Prof Rachel Fitzgerald, Senior Editor, Educational Technology. A/Prof Fitzgerald is a higher education researcher at the University of Queensland, with expertise in academic leadership, curriculum innovation, and scholarly teaching practice.

  • A/Prof Rebekkah Middleton, Senior Editor, Academic Development. A/Prof Middleton, from the University of Wollongong, brings experience in health education, academic governance, and teaching and learning scholarship across professional disciplines.

  • Dr Averil Grieve, Senior Editor, Educational Leadership and Management. Dr Grieve is based at Monash University and specialises in the teaching and learning of communication skills specific to health professions. She has a longstanding focus on educating placement educators and academic staff in teaching diverse student cohorts.
