Event description

Discover ancient practices to rejuvenate your body, mind, and spirit.

In October, we are working with the element of Lake ☱, which represents joy, tranquility, and abundance according to the I-Ching. The Lake embodies the qualities of stillness and reflection on the surface, but with great potential depth beneath. It also represents gathered wealth and abundance in both our material and spiritual lives. Through the Qi & Gong practice we bring out these beautiful qualities.

Join us for an immersive session featuring:

- Meditation: Enjoy a guided meditation evoking the Lake element to ground in stillness; connect with joy; reflect for clarity; explore depth; and emerge with gratitude.
- Breathwork: Learn powerful Kundalini yoga breathwork techniques to enhance your vitality and deepen your inner connection. Enjoy deep, rhythmic breaths that mirror the slow, expansive nature of the Lake. Set intentions to release mental turbulence and embrace the calm and joyful energy of the Lake.
Qigong and Yoga Movement: Engage in these ancient practices to balance and energise your life force, invoking the joy and peace of the Lake element. Movements are fluid, slow, and flowing, emphasizing calmness and a sense of openness, and promoting a tranquil, joyful state, which is receptive to abundance.
- Gong Sound Bath: Surrender to the therapeutic sounds of the gong, creating a profound sense of relaxation and inner peace. From soft, shimmering tones representing the still surface of the lake, to deep sounds that resonate with the hidden depths, enjoy an immersive experience of both calmness and inner exploration.

Embrace this opportunity to reset and recharge with expert guidance and a supportive community. All levels welcome.

Concepts explained:

- Qi(pronounced "Chi") is a fundamental concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine and philosophy. It refers to the vital life force or energy that flows through all living things. Qi is believed to maintain health and balance in the body and mind, and its smooth flow is essential for overall well-being.
- Kundalini yogais a spiritual practice that aims to awaken the dormant spiritual energy (Kundalini) at the base of the spine. It combines postures (asanas), breathwork (pranayama), meditation, and chanting (mantras) to elevate consciousness, increase self-awareness, and achieve spiritual growth.
- Breathwork: encompasses various techniques that focus on the conscious control and manipulation of breath. These practices are designed to enhance mental clarity, emotional release, and physical well-being. Breathwork can involve deep, rhythmic breathing patterns and other techniques to influence the body’s energy and stress levels.
- Qigong: is an ancient Chinese practice that integrates physical movement, breath control, and meditation to cultivate and balance Qi. It involves gentle exercises, stretches, and specific breathing techniques to promote physical health, mental clarity, and spiritual growth.
I-Ching: (also known as the Book of Changes) is an ancient Chinese divination text used for guidance and insight. It is based on the principles of yin and yang and the interplay of natural forces. The text provides wisdom and advice through a system of hexagrams, which are symbols composed of six lines each that change according to various patterns.
- Gong sound bath: is a traditional musical instrument made of metal and shaped like a large, flat disk. When struck, it produces a deep, resonant sound that can vary in tone and volume. Gongs are often used in meditation and healing practices for their ability to create profound vibrations and sound frequencies. During a gong sound bath, participants lie down and allow the sound waves to wash over them, facilitating a meditative and restorative experience.
