Event description

Join artist and arts worker Stirling Kain for a dive into LGBTQIA+ art history. Participants will learn some of the ways Queer-identifying artists have shaped art movements, and how LGBTQIA+ artists overtly (and subtley) expressed themselves through their medium.  Participants are invited to share their own knowledge of Queer art history, and lived experience of making art as an LGBTQIA+ person.

7th November: Week 1: Painting & Illustration

14th November: Week 2: Sculpture

21st November: Week 3: Photography

Stirling graduated with a Bachelor of Art (History of Art maj., Histort min.) from UWA in 2020. She is a creative producer at Walyalup | Fremantle Arts Centre, and a photographer exhibiting locally and nationally.
