Quiet Waters, Strong Roots: An H2O Life Guided Hike

Visit Chattanooga has a fantastic lineup of tours available to WITS attendees. These day tours are only for attendees with a confirmed ticket in their name to WITS 2026.

Step into stillness and story at Booker T. Washington State Park. This H2O Life hike invites you to move your body while honoring the rich legacy rooted in this land. This space is one of only two state parks open to the Black community during segregation. Surrounded by peaceful lake views and quiet trails, this experience offers more than a walk. It’s a chance to disconnect from the noise, reconnect with yourself, and breathe deeply in a place where history and healing meet. Beginner-friendly.

Return Time: approximately 6 PM
Tour Duration: two hours
Accessibility: Quiet. Dirt path with some uneven terrain, tree roots, and small bridges. No stairs. 3 miles, breaks included. Restrooms available on site. Not wheelchair accessible
What to Wear: Breathable, moisture-wicking clothing and shoes with good tread.
What to Bring: Water, your favorite snacks, positive vibes
What Operator Provides: Snacks (nuts, fruit), limited water, first aid support, guided experience.
