Event description

Join us for an unforgettable evening of music at QUT's Garden's Theatre on November 7th. Our talented graduating students will take center stage at 7pm, presenting their original compositions across a diverse spectrum of genres. From folk and rock to electronic and cinematic scores, the showcase promises to be a testament to Brisbane's vibrant emerging music scene.

The night kicks off at 6pm in the Gardens Theatre Foyer, where our gifted 1st and 2nd year musicians will set the tone with their performances. Come early, meet your friends and have a drink!

SHAMIA LILY

No stranger to the stage, Shamia has gained valuable live

performance experience and loves connecting with audiences

through her music. She has been singing and playing instruments

since childhood, drawing early inspiration from Taylor Swift and later

influences such as Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ashe, Olivia

Dean, Vera Blue, and Spacey Jane.

Shamia Blends these inspirations together to create her own unique

sound, also making sure to creates songs that resonate deeply with

listeners, hoping to offer comfort, connection, and a reminder that no

one is alone in what they’re going through.

JOE'S BAND


With their hypnotic rhythms and kaleidoscopic soundscapes, Joes band blends elements of jazz, psych, rock and pop to create something unique. Led by Joseph Ritchie and brought together by Cale Will Sam and George, 5 unique perspectives intertwine.

HEARTREACH

Heartreach is a place. The music takes you on the journey to get there.

Formally Arvo Haze, Heartreach is a 4 piece alternative group from Brisbane/Meanjin. Taking a wide range of influences, Heartreach invites you on a listening journey of different sonic features and nostalgic sounds that strives to voice the words you struggle to find. Through piercing fuzzed out riffs to swelling soundscapes and punkish indie rock, Heartreach wants to help you reach that place only music can get you to.

SOLEIL

Through emotive melodies and intimate lyrics, Soleil hopes listeners will find a piece of home in her songs—a place to feel seen, understood, and uplifted. Pronounced “so-lay” and French for ‘sun’, Soleil is the artist name of Magandjin based singer-songwriter, Sophie Smith. 

 With an indie-folk sound influenced by artists such as Lizzy McAlpine, Noah Kahan, and Adrianne Lenker, Soleil and her bandmates create warm and immersive atmospheres for listeners. Guided by the belief that music has the power to connect, heal, and unite people from all walks of life, Soleil’s raw and honest approach offers a soundtrack to those seeking comfort and belonging.

AMARIAH

Amariah is a singer-songwriter and artist from QUT, blending pop, indie, jazz, and soul influences into heartfelt, story-driven songs. Inspired by personal experiences and the artists she loves, her music is both intimate and expressive. Known for her engaging stage presence and soulful melodies, Amariah captivates audiences with every performance, inviting listeners into her vibrant musical world. Performing alongside her friend and fellow QUT student Phoebe, the duo crafts a warm, playful, and musically rich experience that leaves audiences wanting more. Currently preparing for the QUT Music Showcase, Amariah continues to explore her sound and connect with new audiences, bringing her heartfelt pop and soulful melodies to life.

HAG

Bess Egerton (she/her), known as Hag, is a Meanjin/Brisbane-based bedroom producer and multi-instrumentalist. Beginning on GarageBand with early tracks like Vashti and She Walks in Beauty, she now produces professionally, crafting warm, nostalgic songs shaped by influences from Clairo to Sam Evian. Known locally as Red Hill’s lead singer, Hag is her opportunity for self-expression and experimentation.

The Lost Heads Club

The Lost Heads Club is James Davidson. A self-taught, up-and-coming, underground force from Brisbane, Australia. James Davidson (The Lost Heads Club) is undoubtedly unique. By making music from home in the final years of highschool, The Lost Heads Club had a revelation, that being how music was his saving grace. Utilising music as an outlet for emotions, The Lost Heads Club portrays raw, unfiltered energy in all songs through his awkward, yet, surreal voice.
He aims to comfort those who cannot be comforted and inspire musicians and teenagers alike. Formed in 2020, The Lost Heads Club has built up a catalogue of consistent releases.
