Event description

The concept of radical solidarity is the idea that ‘your struggle is my struggle’. Part of the commitment of radical solidarity is to decentre our own concerns in favour of the broader goal of transforming the whole of the tangled, intertwined system.

Radical solidarity asks us to practise deep listening and connect with the ways in which struggles at other intersections are similar to our own. Radical solidarity is the opposite to lateral violence, in which marginalised communities attack other marginalised communities. Pitting our communities against each other benefits the status quo and we reject this attempt to divide us.

How can we provide space to sit in discomfort with new awareness, and support each other? We explore approaches including circles of comfort and reflexive spaces to practise regular accountability and collective learning.

Please note: these learnings sessions are 90 minutes in length.
