Speaker - Jeremy Wright - Bees

As the National Chair of Rotarians for Bees, Jeremy is a leading advocate for pollinator protection. He will speak to us soon about his experience as a beekeeper to share the critical role bees play in our ecosystem. Look out for a date soon to;

  • Learn about the challenges facing bee populations in Australia (e.g. the varroa mite, habitat loss).

  • Discover how Rotary is addressing these challenges through environmental programs.

  • Connect with fellow Rotarians and leaders in Sydney’s business and community sectors.

  • Be Inspired to take action for a cause that affects us all.

About the Jeremy:
Jeremy Wright was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2021 for his service to the community and arts. 

His community activities began in 1983 as a Director of the Sydney Dance Company and in 1989 with his wife Marilyn, launching Red Nose Day in NSW and a successful prevention campaign for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Jeremy joined Rotary in 2009 and was appointed District Governor for Sydney to the Illawarra, for the year 2021-22. He now on the Board of the Rotary Foundation Australia.

From 2004 to 2013, Jeremy was the founding Chief Executive of MS Research Australia, raising $25mill over 9 years, for research aimed at solving multiple sclerosis. Jeremy was also on the Board of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network from 2014 to 2023.

Our Club Breakfast venue is aboard Captain Cook III, moored on at the King St Wharf in front of Bungalow 8, Lime St, which is a 7 minute walk through the pedestrian walkway from Wynyard station. Please note we don't leave the wharf.

To assist Captain Cook Cruises with catering, Coves & Guests wishing to attend the meeting must register and pay beforehand - $27 in person or $7 on Zoom (no booking fees).
