Read & Roam
Event description
On Thursday, July 27th from 5-7pm, the Heurich House Museum turns into your sanctuary for quiet (library-like) activities during Read & Roam.
Bring a book, sketchpad, or small craft project and spend time soaking in the beautiful interior at your own pace. Whether you choose to read, create, play a silent game, journal, meditate, take or simply relax and explore, this is a space free of distractions and interruptions.
Guests are welcome to bring quiet activities and comfort items like pillows or blankets.
The Heurich family lived in the house from 1894-1956 using it for a variety of activities. Rest for the family may have looked like daughter Anita reading a novel, Christian doing calisthenics (naked) in the garden, Amelia doing needle point in the boudoir, or extended family members lounging in the conservatory surrounded by house plants (pictured in graphic).
Rules:
No glue, glitter, paint, or other messy materials
No food or drink (except water)
Headphones required for music
Library voices only
No children
This program is free to attend, please RSVP so we can ensure space for all!
Please note: This is NOT a tour of the Heurich House Museum. Visitors interested in learning more about the museum are encouraged to register for a guided tour online.
