Readers - Books and Conversation with Anthony Sharwood
Event description
Join us at Petersham Bowling Club on Thursday, February 27th, at 8pm for an evening with Walkley Award-winning journalist and bestselling author Anthony Sharwood. Known for his work in TV, newspapers, and online media, Sharwood has shifted his focus to environmental and cultural storytelling.
Anthony will discuss his latest work exploring the extraordinary life and legacy of Tadeusz Kosciuszko, the freedom fighter and human rights champion for whom Australia's highest mountain is named. Kosciuszko’s remarkable story spans continents and centuries, intertwining with figures like Thomas Jefferson and major historical events like the American War of Independence.
Drawing from his books Kosciuszko and Bring Your A Game (both 2024 releases), Anthony will take us on a journey through Kosciuszko’s incredible impact, his relevance today and Sharwood’s deep connection to the Australian High Country.
Celebrating books and readers, this is a monthly series of in-depth and relaxed conversations with authors about their latest work, and their body of work, their writing process and the ideas that inspire them.
