Readers enters its 5th year! We welcome 2027 & the wonderful Jaclyn Moriarty as our first guest for the new year.

What if you could revisit one moment in your life?

Jaclyn Moriarty is an internationally bestselling and award winning author whose work spans novels for children, young adults and adults. Her books have been translated into multiple languages and have received numerous accolades, including the NSW Premier’s Literary Award, the Queensland Literary Award and the Aurealis Award. Her work has also been recognised as a CBCA Honour Book and a Boston Globe Horn Book Honour book, and shortlisted for the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards and the Nebula Prize.

A former media and entertainment lawyer, Jaclyn grew up in Sydney before living in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. She now lives in Sydney again, bringing her experiences of family, parenthood, place and the passage of time into her writing.

In Time Travel for Beginners, Jaclyn takes readers into a mysterious Time Travel Agency on a bustling Sydney road, where customers can journey into the past without changing the present. You might have tea with Jane Austen, experience a Beatles concert, revisit your childhood, spend time with someone you have lost, or return to a moment that changed everything.

At the heart of the novel are Anna, Teddy and Jade, three people searching for answers as they confront regret, love, family, hope and the choices that shape our lives.

Come along for a fascinating conversation with Jaclyn about the inspiration behind Time Travel for Beginners, the universal appeal of time travel, the nature of regret, family and sibling relationships, parenthood, hope and the small decisions that can change the course of a life.
