Event description

2023 Australian Traditional Medicine Society Natural Medicine Educator’s Forum

Is Artificial Intelligence (AI) changing the way we teach?

This education forum investigates the disruptive, ever evolving world of technology and its impact on teaching and assessment. ChatGPT is used widely by content creators and by students. It raises many questions for us as educators. When they use it, are they cheating or simply using a new resource? What constitutes actual cheating? Importantly, how do we assure the integrity of our qualifications if we are unsure how much is original work by the student? This is not going away, so we need to learn how to live with it and utilise it effectively to ensure the best outcomes for our students and the integrity of our training.

We have convened a panel of students to discuss the impact and integration of AI into teaching practice and assessment. We have also gathered resources to help inform your thinking about this complex and fast-moving technology, which is reaching into every corner of education, assessment design and teaching practice.

We invite you to join us for a discussion, share your experiences and strategies about this new disruptive technology in education (and everywhere else).
