    ***DOGS ARE WELCOME***

The Red Hill Rail Trail traces the path of the old railway line connecting Red Hill to Merricks, offering a picturesque walking experience particularly in the morning. The trail meanders alongside horse paddocks and wineries, adding to the charm of the journey.

This moderate grade 2 walk covers a total distance of 12 km, which will be completed at a steady pace. It is not recommended for beginners. We will begin our trek from Red Hill

As we head towards Merricks, there will be a slight decline in elevation. Once we reach the halfway point (6km), we will turn around and retrace our steps back to the starting point along the same trail.

OUR FINAL 6 KILOMETRES ARE ON A SLIGHT INCLINE, THAT CAN BECOME TIRING FOR SOME!

To ensure a comfortable walk, please make sure you are well-hydrated, rested and have eaten breakfast. There is a toilet available at the half way point for convenience.

The walk will commence at 8am, so please plan to arrive at 7:45am.
