Regenerative Edible Gardening with Craig Castree
Description
Tuesday 24 November | 5.30pm | Perth City Farm
What if your garden could grow better food, build healthier soil and become more resilient at the same time?
In the lead-up to the WA Food Policy Forum, Perth City Farm is excited to welcome award-winning horticulturist, author and educator Craig Castree to the Farm for a special 90-minute presentation on regenerative edible gardening.
Craig has more than 45 years of hands-on experience growing food organically and is the founder of the RegenEdible Gardening approach, which brings regenerative principles into the home garden. His work focuses on building healthy soil, growing nutrient-dense food and creating productive edible gardens that work with nature rather than against it.
During this session, Craig will explore practical ways to:
improve and regenerate your soil
grow healthier, nutrient-dense food at home
create productive edible gardens without relying on synthetic chemicals
use diversity, companion planting and natural systems to build garden resilience
think differently about the role our backyards, balconies and urban spaces can play in a stronger local food system
Whether you are growing a few herbs in pots, tending a backyard veggie patch or looking for ways to take your edible garden further, this session is designed to give you practical ideas you can use at home.

Part of a bigger food conversation
This event is being held in the lead-up to the WA Food Policy Forum on 30 November, which Perth City Farm is proud to support as a Community Partner.
For us, growing food in our cities is about much more than gardening. It is part of creating healthier communities, improving food resilience and helping more people understand where their food comes from and how they can play a role in the food system.
We are delighted to have Craig at the Farm to share his knowledge and get that conversation growing.
