Event description

Strengthening Urban Water Systems Against Extreme Weather – German Insights for Aotearoa

New Zealand’s water infrastructure is under growing pressure from climate change, ageing systems, and extreme weather events. Ensuring safe drinking water, reliable wastewater management, and resilient infrastructure requires fresh thinking and innovative solutions.

The Resilient Waters Conference, hosted by the German-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (GNZCC), will bring together German innovators and New Zealand stakeholders for a high-level forum dedicated to future-proofing New Zealand’s water systems.

At this conference, a delegation of German companies will present cutting-edge technologies and intelligent system solutions designed to improve water resilience in the face of climate change. The programme will feature expert presentations, sector-specific insights, and networking opportunities with a professional audience from water utilities, engineering firms, city councils, and decision-making bodies.

Following the conference, the programme for the delegation will continue with B2B meetings, expert roundtables, and site visits in Wellington, Hawke’s Bay, and Auckland from 17–21 November 2025. These tailored sessions will connect German companies directly with New Zealand stakeholders to exchange knowledge, explore collaboration, and identify concrete opportunities for partnership.

This initiative is organised by the German-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (GNZCC) in collaboration with German partner AHP International and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE).
