Resonance- Cacao and medicine songs circle
Description
An intimate Sunday afternoon of cacao, medicine songs and community.
We’ll come together to experience a cacao ceremony, using cacao as an invitation to slow down, open the heart and connect with ourselves and one another.
From there, we’ll move into song and voice with Nikila. Through musical meditations, simple vocal and rhythm practices, and songs from different traditions around the world, we’ll explore what it feels like to sing together.
There is no need to be a singer or have any previous experience. This is not about singing perfectly, it’s about allowing the voice to be expressed, listening, connecting and sharing the experience with others.
A sacred space to open the heart to life, connect through music, and remember the simple beauty of being in community.
Come as you are.
About Nikila & Carolina
Nikila is a singer and multi-instrumentalist inspired by a love of world music, with a special connection to the folk traditions of Latin America.
With Sri Lankan and Australian heritage, she has travelled far and wide, often finding her way into places, homes and hearts through music. She has returned home each time carrying a few more songs to share those learnt around kitchen tables and fireplaces, in sacred courtyards and enchanted forests.
Her work as a facilitator is rooted in the desire to awaken curiosity, nurture connection, and explore singing as a form of freedom. In a world where so many people have become afraid to share their voices, she is interested in returning singing to something simple and human.
Carolina is a cacao ceremonialist , yoga and meditation teacher, and women’s circle facilitator from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She shares cacao as an ancestral plant medicine, approaching it with deep respect for its roots, traditions and the cultures that have carried this relationship with the plant for generations. Through cacao, ritual, movement and connection, she creates spaces to slow down, connect and experience the medicine of cacao in community.
