Restoring Birrarung Country

Be part of restoring Birrarung Country by helping plant 2,400 locally indigenous groundcovers and shrubs to strengthen habitat along the Merri Merri corridor.

This Bringing Nature Back (BNB) to Yarra initiative supports the restoration of native vegetation, improves wildlife corridors, reduces habitat fragmentation and helps create healthy, resilient ecosystems that benefit both people and nature.

Guided by Yarra City Council's Biodiversity Officers and ecological restoration specialists, you'll learn about the techniques used to restore Birrarung Country while making a meaningful contribution to habitat for local wildlife, including small woodland birds that rely on these important river corridors.

By taking part, you'll have the opportunity to become an active "Human in Nature", helping to heal Country and create a lasting legacy for current and future generations.

• Most Riverfest events are free, and many have limited places with long waitlists. Please only book if you're confident you can attend, so others don't miss out. Bookings are limited to 2 tickets for smaller events and 4 tickets for larger events.
  

• Can't make it? Please cancel your ticket by opening your Humanitix confirmation email and selecting 'Manage Order'. Your place will then be released to someone on the waitlist. If you need assistance, contact us by email: riverfest@yarrariver.org.au
  

• Events will proceed unless severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances require a change. If this happens, registered participants will be notified by email.
