Returning to Work

Thinking about returning to paid work or study while you're still breastfeeding can raise a lot of questions. Do you need to express? How much milk will your baby need? What happens at childcare? When will you find time to pump? And what support can you ask for at work?

We'll explore the many different ways families combine breastfeeding and work. Depending on your circumstances, this might include expressing at work, breastfeeding before and after work, feeding your baby during breaks, working flexibly, or combining breastfeeding with other feeding options.

We'll also discuss expressing and storing breastmilk, planning with your baby's carer, lactation breaks and suitable expressing spaces, and your rights as a breastfeeding employee.

There isn't one "right" way to make breastfeeding and work fit together. Come along to explore the options and start making a plan that works for you, your baby and your circumstances.

About ABA Mornington Peninsula Group

Welcome to the Australian Breastfeeding Association Mornington Peninsula Group — a friendly, relaxed space for local parents, babies and families to connect.

Our free gatherings are a chance to get out of the house, meet other parents who understand the ups and downs of life with a baby, share experiences and enjoy some adult conversation. Come along exactly as you are — late arrivals, feeding babies, unsettled little ones and toddlers on the move are all part of the day!

We have regular discussion mornings covering topics relevant to breastfeeding and parenting, as well as informal social catch-ups and play sessions. You’re welcome whether you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, expressing, mixed feeding, feeding an older child, or simply looking for connection with other local families.

Trained ABA Breastfeeding Counsellors are available at our gatherings, so there’s also an opportunity to ask questions and receive individual breastfeeding information and support.

You don’t need to be an ABA member to come along, and our group activities are free. New faces are always welcome. 💜
