Slow down the Japanese way

Take two hours to step away from everyday life, quiet your mind and reconnect with nature through the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku 'Forest Bathing'.

Join INFTA Accredited Forest Therapy Guide Chloe for a gentle walk through beautiful Seawinds Gardens and surrounding bushland.

Slow down, put your phone away and tune into the sights, sounds, scents and textures of the forest. Chloe will guide you through simple sensory invitations designed to help you switch off, be present and notice the small moments of wonder that are easy to miss.

No fitness, mindfulness or outdoor experience required.

Many people arrive feeling busy or mentally tired and leave feeling calmer, lighter and more grounded, with a clearer mind and renewed connection to nature.

You’ll also take home simple ways to bring more moments of calm, connection and awe into everyday life.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A slow 1–1.5 km walk through gardens and bushland
Simple sensory and nature-connection activities
Time to pause, sit and simply be
Seasonal observations and moments of quiet

What is Forest Therapy?

Forest Therapy, or Shinrin-yoku (Forest Bathing), is an evidence-based wellbeing practice that invites you to slow down and experience nature through your senses. Unlike a bushwalk, the focus is not on distance or exercise, but on relaxation, presence and connection.

Make a day of it

Come alone or bring a friend. Stay for a picnic under the trees or explore the gentle 1.9 km TC McKellar Track after your walk.

Small groups • Limited places • Ages 18+
Seawinds Gardens, Arthurs Seat • 2 hours

Full meeting point and what-to-bring information will be emailed after registration.
