ReWorks: Creative Carpentry

Join us for the second workshop in our ReWorks series, in the new workshop space at the XZW Woodyard, with a hands-on introduction to creative carpentry based on the principles of 𝐑e𝐭h𝐢n𝐤, R𝐞d𝐮c𝐞, 𝐑e𝐮s𝐞, 𝐑e𝐩u𝐫p𝐨s𝐞, R𝐞p𝐚i𝐫.

Facilitated by the talented Deb King, this workshop will guide you through the basics of carpentry, including how to safely use essential power tools. You’ll learn practical skills while crafting quirky and useful creations for your garden or home using reclaimed timber from the Woodyard. Whether you’re a total beginner or just keen to get making again, this is a welcoming space to learn, create, and be inspired.

The workshop will begin from 10am at Raglan Refill on Bow Street, where we’ll kick off the session discussing how to enhance an outdoor space, and connect as a group, before heading up to the XZW site to start planning and building our own projects.

A follow-up workshop session will be held on Saturday 17 May, giving participants a chance to finish off their projects and keep building skills anytime between 10am-2pm.

Deb brings a wealth of experience in community work, environmental initiatives, health & wellbeing, and creative business. With over 100 creative markets under her belt and a love of volunteering, Deb is passionate about sharing her knowledge and empowering others through hands-on learning.
