Event description

Discover nature after dark on a guided night walk through Rhodes Park!

Join us for an evening of exploration as we listen and look out for nocturnal animals, learning about their behaviour and the vital roles they play in our ecosystem. As part of the Dark Skies, Wild Nights Citizen Science Corner, you’ll also learn how to measure light pollution using Globe at Night and understand its impact on local wildlife.

The walk will be led by Apunga Ecological Management, specialists in bush regeneration, natural area management, and environmental education.

This activity is suitable for families with children aged 7+.

Please meet at the Kokoda Track Memorial Carpark (Rhodes Park, Killoola St, Concord West) at 6pm.

The Rhodes Night Walk is part of a wider initiative supported by the Australian Library and Information Association, in partnership with the City of Canada Bay Council. This program aims to inspire our community to get involved in Citizen Science through dedicated library corners, hands-on workshops, and borrowable Citizen Science Kits (coming soon). Learn more by visiting our Citizen Science Corner here.
