Riparian Restoration Workshop

Join Bellingen Shire Council, for a free educational workshop on riparian restoration.

The morning portion of the workshop will take place at the Bellingen Memorial Hall Studio, from 9-12pm. Here we will listen to presentations from Local Land Services, Crown Lands, NRAR, Soil Conservation Service, Landcare, and other local environmental groups on a wide range of topics including:

• Best practice weed control

• Bank stabilization processes

• Permits and approvals

• Threatened species along the riparian edge

• Bush regeneration techniques and more.

A light morning tea and lunch will be provided and there are toilets available onsite.

The afternoon portion of the event is an optional field trip from 1-4:30pm. We will be exploring erosion control sites on the Kalang River. Transport will be provided however; there are very limited tickets so get in quick if you would like to participate.

If you are attending the field trip, please wear appropriate clothing such as a light long sleeve shirt, long pants and comfortable enclosed footwear. Bring water, a hat and depending on the weather, a rain jacket.
