    ROBOTIC 3D DRAWING with Artist in Residence MAJID RABET

    Wednesday 2 October, 2024

    10.30am - 12.30pm | Grafton Regional Gallery, Studio

    GENERAL ADMISSION: $30 + booking fee

    **For ages 6 - 11 years.


    Join artist in residence, Majid Rabet, to explore drawing with 3D shapes using Majid’s own robotic machines. In this fun and playful workshop, you will draw, create 3D shapes, and build your very own sculpture using recycled materials. Participants will use their imagination to create personalized shapes that are drawn on scrap Styrofoam, then cut out to make a sculpture, shape or puzzle. Objects created can then be painted.

    Materials and processes in this workshop after safe for children - masks and gloves will be supplied for participants.

    Parents and carers are welcome to stay for the workshop with their child if they wish, or they can be signed in and picked up when the workshop is finished.


    About Majid

    Majid Rabet is an electro-mechanical engineer, artist and inventor, whose creations push the limits of both art and technology. Based in Sydney, Majid came to Australia from Iran after seeking asylum and living in detention. Majid creates small machines and robots from found materials that play with imagination; his world is one of walking robots, cutting machines, tools, and moving sculptures. Majid’s imagination and creative skills have seen him through incredible adversity, and he continues to create objects to bring joy and positivity to both himself and those around him.
