Event description

It that time again folks! Rock n Roll Club is back again this month featuring:

Glen & Glenda, Bob Short & The LangLangs

****

Glen & Glenda

are an acoustic folk/pop duo from Sydney. They’ve been playing local venues and small bars across the city for the past 8 years. Glen & Glenda's original material is a mixture of folk and acoustic pop along the lines of Nancy Sinatra, Cat Power, She and Him and Jackie DeShannon just to name a few. They released their debut album Dupain in 2017 and their second album Bohemia in 2022.

Bob Short

Punk rocks forgotten (twas once a) boy continues his forty year campaign to bottom feed scraps from the music industry. It's true. There have been many near misses with fame. Tonight, in an intimate setting, Bob Short will demonstrate the noble art of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

The LangLangs

Many of us dream of a life of high excitement, international espionage and remorseless shagging. The LangLangs are among the few who have the guts to actually live it.

The LangLangs’ trademark sound captures the high-octane kicks you get from waking up to find an enemy agent plunging an ice-pick into your spleen. Think Dame Joan Sutherland fronting Motorhead - or a hybrid of the Rolling Stones and the Ramones.

Sometimes referred to as the Loverboy of Sydney indie bands, the LangLangs are happy to take on the mantle of preening narcissists in red leather trousers.

  *****

Under 18s are welcome at the Petersham Bowling Club but must be accompanied by an adult.

The Petersham Bowling Club acknowledge the Gadigal of the Eora Nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which this show takes place and pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and emerging and extend those respects to the First Nations peoples of NSW and beyond.
