Rock n Roll Club
Event description
Bowie, Iggy, Lou. The League of Magnificent Bastards. You thought you would never see their like again...and you were right. But we have worked some magic with a discarded John Sands Ouija Board and, aided and abetted by some weird alignments of the heavenly spheres, we’ll be summoning the spirits of the dead and absent to honour the artists who inspired us to live lives touched by weirdness and maybe a tincture of truth. Lou Reed, David Bowie, Iggy Pop. Through a glass, darkly. Curated distantly by Brian Jones, maybe. As interpreted by the Light Brigade and the LangLangs. Hey babe, if your hair’s alright, hey babe let’s go out ....Sunday 19 November
The Light Brigade
Delving deep into the Underground, The velvety tones of the Light Brigade make a rare public appearance. They will be playing selections from the albums "Going Underground" https://deadrabids.bandcamp.co... and "Black Light" https://deadrabids.bandcamp.co...
And a few surprises...
The LangLangs
Many of us dream of a life of high excitement, international espionage and remorseless shagging. The LangLangs are among the few who have the guts to actually live it.
The LangLangs’ trademark sound captures the high-octane kicks you get from waking up to find an enemy agent plunging an ice-pick into your spleen. Think Dame Joan Sutherland fronting Motorhead - or a hybrid of the Rolling Stones and the Ramones.
Sometimes referred to as the Loverboy of Sydney indie bands, the LangLangs are happy to take on the mantle of preening narcissists in red leather trousers.
