Event description

Jess of Somatic Experience Studio and Chara of Embodied Movement join energies, and invite you to a playful expansion to your authentic self.

As pyschotherapists, they will hold a safer space for you to explore your emotional body in this profound movement practice amongst the backdrop of nature and peaceful surrounds.

Chara will guide you on a journey of emotional expression and discovery, where the power of your feelings becomes a guiding compass toward healing, balance, and lasting wellness.

While Jess will help you build strong foundations of knowledge around your deeply held needs and values through developmental movement principles, authentic movement and felt sensing.



Make a move toward this very unique offering with limited spaces. A one day somatic movement retreat nestled in the green spaces of CERES Community Centre. We have a gated section of the gardens at The Dapur village. A rustic wooden hut with cathedral ceilings opening onto a covered outdoor space.

What are the goals of the day?

  • Four sessions to progress throughout the day.

  • Morning tea and afternoon tea provided.

  • Collective and supportive experience in a group therapy setting.

  • Increased body awareness through movement.

  • Nurturing the felt sense of well-being.

  • Languaging the non-verbal aspects to body wisdom.

  • Release and relax by understanding where your body resists.

  • Learning more about regulating our nervous system.

  • Slow expansion of emotional tolerance.

  • Exploring your deeply held value system.

  • Shift energy blockages to change narratives.

More Information about the day:


- The retreat is located at The Dapur hut. A gated hut with outdoor pagola and lush tropical surrounds. Map above will also be supplied in the email upon ticket purchase.

- Morning and afternoon tea provided.

- Please bring your own lunch. Fridge is available. There is facility to heat food.

- This practice is for all bodies, genders and orientations.

- Access to the hut is through uneven ground and takes about 3mins to walk from the carpark.
- This is a safe space to express and explore and we ask participants come with an open mind to experience a collective journey.

- Cancellation fees apply 7 days prior to event. no refunds after.

About the facilitators:

Jess Osborne has been providing Adaptive Bodywork sessions since 2019 with a professional history in Creative Arts practices since 1986. In 2024 she began her post graduate degree in Somatic Dance Movement Therapy (SDMT) and is currently completing clinical hours. They are a registered student Dance Therapist with the DTAA. Their integrative approach and current experience in pyschotherapy incorporates: dance movement therapy (DMT), hanna somatics, adaptive bodywork, bio-energetics, art therapy, sound therapy, spiritual guidance, holistic health mentorhsip. Jess is an active member of the Queer community drawing from many years of lived experience. They work in the demographic of mental health and neurodiversity.

Chara Yang is an intuitive dancer and former showgirl who has transformed her life's challenges into a mission of helping others. As a survivor of domestic violence, she discovered the profound power of movement and emotional awareness as tools for recovery. This passion led her to complete 2 years of study in Dance Movement Therapy and she is now a registered therapist with the DTAA.

Drawing from her lived experience and deep empathy, Chara works with children navigating ADHD, anxiety or disabilities, as well as adults facing mental health challenges. Her practice is rooted in the wisdom of body language, self awareness, emotional regulation, and self expression drawing from the Kestenberg Movement Profile and the Moving Cycle framework.
