    2023 Monash Medal Presentation and Address 

    Guest Speaker 2023 Monash Medal recipient Richard Elkington OAM

    The Monash Medal is awarded by Rotary Club of Melbourne to an outstanding Australian who has made a significant contribution to the Australian community (and beyond).  

    The criteria are Leadership, Integrity and Service - values high on General Sir John Monash's (our second President) agenda and key values of Rotary.

    Richard Elkington OAM has a high profile of leadership in the La Trobe Valley, in the same industry as John Monash. He has been Grand Master of Freemasons Victoria.  He has been honoured with the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours and cited “for service to the community through a range of roles” and community activity, particularly in the promotion of the Latrobe Valley, as a former chair of Regional Development Gippsland, and as a former board member of Gippsland Development Limited. Richard Elkington will receive the 2023 Monash Medal and address the meeting.
