City of Ballarat, in partnership with RoadSafe Central Highlands welcomes Ballarat residents, aged 55+ to:

Safer Cyclists: Adult Bike Ed

- A two-part information session for New or Returning Riders

The theory-based sessions will educate and assist adults who:

  • may be new to cycling
  • are returning riders who want to build more confidence


Topics covered will include:

  • Learning to Ride
  • Key Road Rules for Riding
  • Sharing the Road with Drivers
  • Electric Bikes
  • Riding with Children
  • Basic bike maintenance

Participants will also visit the nearby Re-Cranked shed - a Y-Ballarat initiative re-vamping unwanted bikes into serious modes of transport for people without wheels

This is a two-part course run over two consecutive weeks. 

Course registration indicates attendance at both sessions.

Part 1: Wednesday 13th November 2024

Time: 10.00am-12.00pm

Part 2: Wednesday 20th November 2024

Time: 10.00am-12.30pm

All abilities access

Bike racks and parking available

Tea and coffee facilities available.
