A Work-in-Progress Preview

With the evening showing now at capacity, this 2pm preview offers another chance to experience SALT in its current stage of development.

SALT is an intimate dance- theatre work exploring how we remain human together amidst grief, rupture and uncertainty.

Created by Noa Rotem in collaboration with performers Colleen Coy, Taheli Teram and Laine Tracey, the work unfolds through a raw and deeply physical performance language shaped by the body's instinct toward connection, wholeness and return.

Part lament, part collective physical howl, SALT follows grief as it moves through women's bodies- not as something carried alone, but as a force that gathers, reverberates and transforms.

Tenderness sits alongside ferocity, absurdity and moments of unexpected humour as the performers navigate loss, longing, interdependence and renewal.

At its heart, SALT is an ode to grief's impulse toward connection, care and belonging.

Following a sold-out work-in-progress showing in 2025, SALT returns to the Drill Hall for another public sharing of this evolving work.

This work-in-progress showing invites audiences into a living stage of the work's development- allowing the piece to deepen through continued performance, reflection and exchange with audiences.

Please note:

SALT is a predominantly self-funded independent project. The artists have contributed substantial unpaid labour to the development of the work to date.

Funds raised through this event go directly toward artist fees and the continued development of the project.

Where possible, choosing a higher-priced ticket helps directly support the artists involved and contributes to the sustainability of this independent work.

This work-in-progress phase of SALT is supported by the Shevet Wellbeing Program and Healthy North Coast through the North Coast PHN Program.
