Community Sector Briefing: What's next after the Disability Royal Commission?
Event description
Please RSVP by midday, Tuesday 12 December
The Disability Royal Commission Final Report, handed down in September, contains more than 200 recommendations for change. It outlines major reforms that will impact Victorian community sector organisations that support people with disability.
VCOSS is holding two sector briefings to help you to be informed and supported through this reform process.
This final briefing (you can find out about the first briefing here) will be hosted by VCOSS and feature presentations and panel discussions with Damian Griffis (First Peoples Disability Network Australia), Jen Hargrave (Women with Disabilities Victoria) and more.
Please note:
- This briefing is for VCOSS members and Victorian Disability Advocacy Program (VDAP) organisations only.
- You can submit a question when you register or during the briefing.
We hope you can make it and look forward to seeing you online on the day.
Update on Auslan
Due to high demand, Victoria is experiencing a shortage of Auslan interpreters. VCOSS strives to ensure our events are inclusive to everyone and will do our best to secure Auslan interpreters on the day.
To help us do this, if you require Auslan for this event, please RSVP as soon as possible so that we can work with Expression Australia to secure interpreters.
We work towards creating a Victoria that is fair, just and inclusive. A society where nobody is trapped by poverty, and everybody is supported to live a life of wellbeing.
