(Spring Concert) With Liberty and Justice for All
Event description
As the nation commemorates the 250th anniversary of its founding, Singing City invites audiences to reflect on the final six words of the Pledge of Allegiance: “with liberty and justice for all.” Through a powerful program of choral music, we’ll offer a "choral commentary" on how these ideals have shaped—and continue to challenge—our shared American story.
Featured repertoire includes Damien Geter’s 1619, which incorporates a setting of the 13th Amendment, Ken Medema’s Justice, Margaret Bonds’ I Believe in Liberty (from Credo), and David Chase’s arrangement of Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor, paired with God Bless America.
Join us for this moving and thought-provoking performance that blends history, hope, and harmony.
