Overview | What We’ll Cover
Self-compassion is often underestimated, dismissed as “fluffy,” yet it’s a powerful ally for resilience and sustainable wellbeing. In this interactive session, we define self-compassion, explore its key components, and practice bringing it into everyday life.
What You’ll Experience
Through reflection and guided discussion, you’ll:
Learn about self compassion and its benefits
Practice simple ways of bringing a more supportive inner response into everyday challenges
Be introduced to the key components of self-compassion
Recognise how common and shared many of our internal struggles are
This is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and consider a different way of relating to yourself — particularly in demanding contexts.
What You’ll Take Away
A clearer understanding of self-compassion as a learnable set of skills
Awareness of the core components of self-compassion that can be developed over time
Simple starting points for practising self-compassion in everyday situations
Developing these skills takes time and practice; this session provides a foundation for further exploration.
Who This Is For
Professionals who hold high standards for themselves, work in demanding roles, or notice a strong inner critic and are curious about developing a steadier, more supportive and sustainable way of responding to challenge.

mindingu Wellbeing at Work Talk Series
Part of our mindingu Wellbeing at Work Talk Series, this talk is one of 12 standalone sessions designed to help participants develop practical skills for wellbeing and resilience. Every talk is self-contained, giving you actionable strategies you can use right away.
For those who explore multiple sessions, the talks progressively build on each other, helping participants develop a deeper, more integrated set of skills that support wellbeing and resilience over time.
Each session is interactive and practical, combining key ideas with activities such as reflection, partner discussions, experiential exercises, and brief mindfulness or ACT-based practices, all grounded in real workplace examples. Participants also receive handouts and, where relevant, audio resources to support continued practice.
