Seniors Festival: Who lies beneath, Liverpool Pioneer's Memorial Park Cemetery Tour
Event description
Beneath the ground in the peaceful Liverpool Pioneer's Memorial Park lie some of Liverpool's most significant characters from the past; people who changed the history of New South Wales through lives that were dramatic, triumphant, and sometimes tragic. Join us for a ninety-minute tour of the cemetery to discover stories of whalers and walkers, landowners and liars, convicts, cops and crooks, as Storyteller and Guide Jo Henwood leads us through the graves to bring history to life.
Jo Henwood is always telling stories.
As a Tour Guide and Education Officer, she leads tours in many heritage sites around Sydney and Windsor, including women’s history tours.
She is an Accredited Storyteller with Australian Storytellers, Accredited Professional Guide with the Institute of Australian Tour Guides and co-founder of the Australian Fairy Tale Society. Jo is a museum theatre creative, workshop leader and public speaker on history, literature, creative writing, intangible culture and storytelling.
