Shining a Light on Clinical Governance in Aged Care
Event description
A Spotlight on Clinical Governance in Aged Care
Uncovering the WHY, the WHAT and the HOW
Date: Thursday 16 October 2025
Venue: The Adelaide Pavilion
Address: Veale Gardens - Corner South Terrace & Peacock Road, Adelaide
Clinical Governance in the aged care sector has gained greater prominence in light of the system failings identified through the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. Whilst we have observed some improvements across the sector, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission’s recent performance data highlights regular non-compliance across Standard 8 of the current Aged Care Quality Standards: Organisational Governance, which includes clinical governance.
These obligations have not only been mirrored but expanded in the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards (Standards 2 and 5) which are due to commence with the new Aged Care Act on 1 November 2025. In preparation, this interactive seminar will provide you with the knowledge and tools to confidently speak the language of clinical governance in practice and understand how to determine if you are providing safe, effective, personal and co-ordinated care.
Utilising practical case studies and frameworks, you will leave this seminar able to confidently implement clinical governance processes within your organisation.
