Event description

f you’ve been admiring Shogun Tools online, now’s your chance to see what makes these tools so special, up close, in your own hands.

Join us for this exclusive pop-up event where Maki, co-founder of Shogun Tools, will showcase a selection of authentic Japanese gardening tools. From secateurs to shears and other beautifully crafted pieces, these are legacy tools designed to last a lifetime (or more!).

What to expect:
✔ Get hands-on with tools you’ve only seen on the website — test the balance, weight, and feel.
✔ Chat with Maki about the craftsmanship, history, and makers behind each piece.
✔ Learn how to choose, care for, and maintain your tools so they serve you for years.
✔ Take home a piece of Japanese tradition — no shipping wait, no guesswork.

This is a rare opportunity — Shogun Tools won’t be back in Ipswich until 1st November at the Ipswich Plant and Lifestyle Fair!

About Shogun Tools

Shogun Tools was born from a simple gift, a pair of handmade Japanese secateurs Maki gave to her gardener husband, Alex, back in 2013. When friends and colleagues started asking for tools just like them, the seed of an idea took root.

Today, Shogun Tools is dedicated to sharing the incredible craftsmanship of Japanese toolmakers with gardeners, chefs, and makers across Australia and beyond.

Every tool is selected with care, tested by professionals, used by Maki and Alex themselves and sold under the maker’s own name to honour their skill. Shogun Tools believes in ethical trade, fair pricing, and helping preserve generations of Japanese tradition through beautiful, functional tools designed to last a lifetime (or more).

By putting these tools in the hands of people who’ll use and love them, Shogun Tools aims to be a bridge between cultures and craftspeople, with integrity at every step.
