SHYAC Screenwriting Workshop

This workshop is an exciting addition to SHYAC's school holiday offerings in 2026.

We are thrilled to introduce Ted Andrade as our facilitator for this one day workshop. Ted is first and foremost, a SHYAC Dad, and has been a great supporter of our productions with his daughter for the last few years.

However, Ted brings real industry experience to SHYAC. His extensive experience in the Australian and international screen and theatre industries makes him an exciting mentor for young people interested in writing, film, television, acting and storytelling.

With more than 20 years of professional experience across film, television, theatre and music, he has worked on Australian and international productions including Wednesday, The Big Fix, Deadly Women, Packed to the Rafters and Tricky Business, alongside acclaimed actors and filmmakers.

As a screenwriter, Ted has developed original work across crime, science fiction and drama, with a particular passion for character-driven storytelling.

In this workshop, young writers aged 12–17 will learn how to develop characters, create compelling stories and transform their ideas into screenplays, guided by someone who understands storytelling from both sides of the camera.

IMPORTANT: To participate in 2026 SHYAC events, an annual membership is required per family. A Family Membership entitles up to 2 children to be eligible to be a part of SHYAC productions, workshops and/or drama clubs and will also be covered by our insurance while being a part of these events. Additional children can be registered on the same form and will cost an additional $5 per child. Details must be provided for each child who is part of the membership.
