Si Mullumby & Ben Catley FROTH BUNBURY
Event description
Si Mullumby & Ben Catley bring their high energy co-headline show to Bunbury for the first time at Froth Craft!
Come and experience the body-shaking didge, huge percussion and incredible guitar playing the two are renowned for. These local West Australian fellas always raise the roof with an epic jam session at the end of the night.
This is set to be a huge evening of uplifting live music to move to.
SI MULLUMBY:
As a younger man, Si quit studying medicine at UWA to hitch-hike around Australia and be a didgeridoo player before he even knew how to play the instrument.
Years later, Si was the only non-indigenous didgeridoo player to be featured in the Sydney Olympics Discovery Channel documentary, Yidaki. After this, he was invited to Arnhem Land by a high elder for personal teaching.
Since then he has sold out recitals at the Sydney Opera House, was employed as the didgeridoo player for Cirque du Soleil, and was at one stage signed to the leading UK record label. Recently he was a featured guest with Ludovico Einaudi during the final performance of their 2024 Australian tour at the Perth Concert Hall.
Si now resides in Fremantle where he combines drums, percussive flamenco guitar and naked voice alongside his signature uplifting style of didgeridoo playing.
"An astonishing solo player!" - Cirque Du Soleil
BEN CATLEY:
With mesmerising guitar playing, huge vocals and an ecstatic stage presence, Ben Catley pours every ounce of his soul into his live show. Having toured all across Australia, New Zealand and the UK many times over and appearing on huge festival lineups, he captivates audiences like few other solo artists.
Recently touring the UK & New Zealand as well as festivals across WA (including Bluesfest Perth with The Doobie Brothers & John Butler), Ben’s creative style of guitar-focused blues/roots/folk/rock continues to evolve. While mostly known for his high energy style, he has recently been releasing collections of chilled, atmospheric finger-style guitar instrumentals ‘Cloudcabins’, that he has now weaved into his live set, creating a diverse show of guitar craftsmanship. These tracks follow previously releasing tracks featuring the legendary Wim Hof.
“A tour de force of contemporary acoustic guitar styles… A virtuoso guitarist.” - Xpress Mag
