Silver Rainbow ONLINE - LGBTI Inclusive Aged Care Training

Twenty10 delivers Silver Rainbow: LGBTI+ inclusive aged care services training as part of a federally funded program. This training is available to anyone providing services for older consumers and aims to build the capacity of aged care services to adopt practices that create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex) older people. 

The training is suitable for:

• all aged care staff, from front line to management.
• anyone who works in an organisation that provides aged care services within NSW. (If you're not based in NSW, please find your local State or Territory Silver Rainbow partner provider.)
• people working with older LGBTI people in other roles such as allied health, administration, support staff and volunteers.
  

Learning Outcomes:

• Understand concepts of gender, sexual orientation, bodily diversity, and relationships. 
• Practice language that is inclusive of LGBTI communities. 
• Identify impacts of discrimination on LGBTI older people. 
• Identify impacts of negative values and experiences of LGBTI older people. 
• Develop strategies and actions for inclusive practice in aged care settings. 
• Demonstrate effective and respectful communication with older LGBTI people regarding their specific needs. 

Format: Two hours of interactive presentation, discussion and activities. The training is delivered via Zoom.
