Sip 'n Make Play with Clay - Platter plates OR tray
Event description
Another evening where we can get our hands dirty
Take your food presentation to the next level and join us for a 2 hour workshop where you can create your very own platter or carry tray. Be inspired by nature and create your own botanical inspired art piece to serve tasty food on!
During this process you will learn all about working with clay, what to expect and be inspired to create more! Suitable for beginners - no previous experience needed :)
Best of all, through doing this workshop - you have all the skills to book in for a studio session to create your own hand-building clay masterpieces ANYDAY!
In this session you will:
- Learn the basics of working with Clay
- Learn about the clay process, firing and glazing
- Techniques to help you sculpt clay
- Choice to have your items clear glazed (free of charge) OR just do a bisque firing (free of charge) where you can apply your own paint to it at home OR return to one of our specialized glazing sessions to learn about and use our specialized glazes ($20 + firing fees)
Our workshop itself is two hours long with plenty of time in between to relax and enjoy the night.
We meet at 6pm for a 6:30pm start, a short break will be provided during the session as well. All Materials are included in this session.Â
VERY IMPORTANT:
All your items you can KEEP as we include bisque firing for this workshop. Your items will be ready to collect after 3 weeks (E.g 24th November) - please collect as soon as you can due to storage limitations (We will keep your items for a maximum of two months).
Due to the nature of clay, there is no guarantee that your mugs will survive the firing process. Although we take the utmost care when firing your items, clay is very brittle and can behave unexpectedly during the firing process. In the case of total annihilation of your piece, we will provide you with more clay and you can use the skills learned in class to create another clay masterpiece which we will fire again for you.Â
We encourage you to bring any cuttings, your favorite flower or special leaves in to use as imprints during this session.Â
Our Bar will be open to cater for all your Sipping requirements and our kitchen is now open evenings too! Feel free to come earlier to enjoy a meal - our bar section and Menu is available from 5:30pm!
Please note: We are NOT a traditional venue with a quiet classroom. At our venue you may find other creatives working on their own projects like making a drink carry case, building and hammering a rustic key holder together or using the pottery wheels. We are all about creating a fun, lively venue filled with laughter!
Places are limited so please enrol via the ticket link on this event as soon as possible.
Entrance to our venue is from the carpark at the back of 5 Mackinnon street, Rockingham
