Skilled Migrant Networking Evening by MCCSA
Event description
A Supportive Space for Skilled Migrants: Share Your Journey, Find Your Community
As a skilled migrant, your journey is unique, filled with challenges, aspirations, and resilience. We understand that building a new life in Australia can be daunting, but you don't have to navigate it alone.
Join us for an evening dedicated to creating a supportive space where you can share your stories, connect with others who understand your experiences, and discover resources to help you thrive.
At this collaborative event with the Engineers Australia D&I SA and Engineers Australia WIE SA, you will have the opportunity to:
- Gain inspiration from skilled migrants who have successfully navigated the challenges of starting anew in Australia, such as finding employment and adapting to a new culture.
- Hear from speakers: Xueqian Zhang – "The Important Lessons I've Learned Over 12 Years in Australia". Xueqian will share personal stories about how she learned to embrace herself and her culture in this multicultural country. Gain some insights into overcoming your accent and grammar concerns and becoming a more confident and engaging speaker. Vicki Hartman from Tauondi College, our Aboriginal Community Partner for Community Connections Program. Peter Kraczkowski - Plant Engineer at Haigh's Chocolate and Diana Onate - Vega Control system engineer at GPA engineering.
- Network with fellow skilled migrants in a welcoming environment
- Open up about the obstacles you have faced and amplify your voice within a compassionate community
- Learn about the Multicultural Communities Council of SA (MCCSA) and how it can support you on your journey
- Explore the Community Connections Program, a valuable resource for skilled migrants seeking guidance and assistance
This is more than just a networking event; it's a chance to find solace, strength, and a sense of belonging among others who have walked similar paths.
