Joel Abraham, former Joint-CEO of Australian Institute of Business (AIB), has partnered with Stone & Chalk to share the AIB story. Joel will emphasise ‘how’ he turned around and scaled the business and provide key takeaways and lessons learned that could apply to most SME’s.

In this masterclass, the following points will be covered:

    About Joel Abraham

    Joel was the Joint-CEO of the Australian Institute of Business between 2005 and 2018. During this time he led the business through the turnaround from a small family business to become the largest MBA provider in Australia and one of the largest private higher education institutions in Australia. Highlights include:

    • Increased revenues by more than 50X with significant EBITDA levels
    • produced more than 10,000 MBA graduates
    • developed and implemented an industry-leading customer acquisition model and value proposition
    • built a highly successful transnational operation with distribution across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
    • employ 275 full-time staff in Adelaide with several hundred contractors

    During 2015, Joel led a sale process that resulted in a leading private equity firm from Sydney, acquiring 50% of AIB. Joel stayed on as Joint-CEO until his exit from the role in February 2018, and he still maintains a Board seat and significant equity position.

    Joel is now an active director and investor, working with high growth South Australian SME’s.

    This session will be hosted as an in-person event at Lot Fourteen, Adelaide. Light refreshments, including drinks and snacks, will be provided (included in the ticket price).
