Social Impact - Measuring what matters
Description
Ōtepoti Community Builders, in collaboration with Inspiring Communities, is pleased to host Social Impact - Measuring what matters, a 1½-day professional development opportunity for people working across the community, arts, and social sectors.
This event will support organisations to better understand, measure, and communicate the impact of their mahi.
Wednesday morning is an optional masterclass where you will get to apply all you have learned. This is included in the cost of the hui, but please indicate in the booking form that you will attend as we need to know numbers.
Why this matters
Many organisations are being asked to clearly demonstrate their impact in order to sustain funding and support. At the same time, access to practical, locally relevant training is limited.
Social Impact - measuring what matters responds to this by creating a space for shared learning, connection, and skill-building – grounded in the realities of our communities.
Who it’s for
Community organisations, arts and environmental groups, grassroots groups, social services and anyone doing great mahi in communities across Ōtepoti and wider Otago.
What you’ll gain
Practical tools to tell the story of your impact
Greater confidence in evaluation and measuring outcomes
Stronger connections with others working in the region
The training will draw on the Tūhono Impact framework, alongside local stories and interactive group sessions.
Who are our trainers
We are excited to be hosting two of the people who developed the Tūhono Impact tool for the first time in Ōtepoti:
Donna Provoost
As the Director of Powerdigm – the consultancy arm of Inspiring Communities – Donna Provoost combines her expertise as an economist and researcher with a passion for practical, people-centred approaches. With a career spanning socio-economic consultancy, public sector policy, and strategy leadership, she brings a wealth of knowledge and innovative thinking to her work. Donna has tackled complex issues across regional development, education, justice, transport, child wellbeing, and community-led change. Her superpower is describing the big picture of the puzzle we are all working on, so we can see what's being built and where the pieces connect.
