Social Enterprise is so hot right now!

Just in the last year the world's biggest public investor, BlackRock, announced they would consider social and environmental impact alongside financial performance in their investment decisions and the CEO's of 181 of America's biggest companies, including Apple, Amazon, Cisco, Citigroup, Motorola, Nasdaq and many more, announced that companies must consider stakeholders beyond shareholders.

Unilever have shown that purposeful brands outperform the market and the B Corp movement continues to grow in strength while social enterprise startups in every industry and niche imaginable are launching and succeeding, winning market share from business-as-usual.

But confusion also reigns. What even is a social enterprise? How can we distinguish them and is this more than just purpose-washing? Can you make a living, and build wealth, while also doing good? What are the wider forces that are driving the rise of social enterprise?

This workshop, led by StartSomeGood's co-founder and CEO Tom Dawkins, a globally-recognised expert on social enterprise and innovation, will demystify social enterprise - exploring what they are, why the number is growing so fast and the opportunity that they provide for all entrepreneurs looking to make a difference.

We will cover:

1) What is a social enterprise?

2) How can we tell them apart? What are the different business models, approaches and legal structures?

3) What's involved in designing and launching a social enterprise?

4) What's the formula for success we've seen work at StartSomeGood, where we have the highest project success rate in cause crowdfunding.
