SONIK FACES PRESENTS WALTERVELT (BR)
Event description
Sonik Tonik is about to hit a milestone, as one of the longest running club series in Auckland, it turns an incredible 20 years this year. Dark Faces have been building a reputation across NZ for quality events and sound over event years, we couldn’t think of anyone better to team up with for this very special event, SONIK FACES is about to unleash.
For such a significant birthday and to celebrate the creation of SONIK FACES, we felt the only way to start is exactly how we mean to continue. With a stonking party at one of our favourite clubs in Aotearoa, The Mothership.
SONIK FACES is proud to present Brazil’s heavy-hitting Waltervelt. Developing his aesthetic since 2016, Watervelt was discovered by the indomitable Maceo Plex, who has since heralded him as one of the great names representing his label, Ellum. With a back catalogue that is played by pretty much every local house DJ you can name, his sound is diverse, creative and instantly recognisable. His influences are varied and range from indie through to electro, with a heavy dose of rocking good techno. Even if you haven’t heard his name, you have definitely danced to his music.
If you’re looking for a night with hot-stepping beats from start to finish, a journey through sound that will be second to none, a soundsystem that punches in all the right ways, a safe environment that you can lose yourself in and a night out you will talk about for months afterward, this is the night for you.
With support from COMMUNICATE, Finn Jackson and Cooper Khan.
