Submerged Creek Listening | Friday Night Social: Radio Climate
Submerged Creek Listening
Sound artist, Geoff Robinson, will take audiences on a guided listening walk tracing the submerged creek flowing under Melbourne University on Wurundjeri Woi wurrung Country.
Listening to the creek through drain grills we will follow the flow of the creek upstream from Bouverie street to University Oval. We will engage acoustic and microphone listening to attune to the waters flow and ecologies, speculating the cycles of eel migrations that continue their journey to and from the Birrarung and beyond.
Access: The walk will be approximately 700meters (1.2km return to Science Gallery) along flat street footpaths and concrete pathways within the university with some moderate inclines. There will be access to several accessible bathrooms in proximity to walk at the university. The first part of the walk will be on streets with some traffic noise, becoming quieter when in the university.
Please let us know of your access requirements ahead of the walk.
