Event description

Welcome to Sourdough Basics! Join us for a hands-on workshop at our Cultivating Connections MT Commercial Kitchen where you'll learn the art of making delicious sourdough bread from scratch with Baker Leslie Karst. We will walk through the process of making a sourdough loaf from start to finish, from how to feed and maintain a starter to a basic recipe that will yield a beautiful loaf of bread on your table. Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with fellow bakers and get into the sourdough game! Each participant will go home with a fermenting dough to bake at home, a jar of sourdough starter, a proofing basket and a blade.

~Part of our Heritage Skills Workshop Series~

Leslie Karst is the baker and owner of Karst & Sons Bakery here in Hamilton. Her main passion behind baking is focused on organic, freshly-milled grains and using local ingredients whenever possible. A small, seasonally changing menu makes baking all the more exciting at Karst & Sons Bakery. When she's not baking and delivering bread, Leslie is homeschooling her 5 boys (hence the sons part of her business name). To find out more or place an order check out karstandsons.com.
