    Event description

A 2-minute drive from Berry on the NSW South Coast is the Berry Sport & Recreation Centre. Located in a beautiful rural setting with coastal escarpment views, the centre boasts a modern, award-winning recreation hall with wooden sprung floors, a pool, wide open spaces, comfortable accommodation and is a fully catered sporting site ideal for groups like ours. The centre is a 10 min drive to the beach and all the facilities are clustered close to each other (no long walks between facilities).

The fun begins with the first session at 7pm after dinner on Friday 2nd February. You can choose to attend the full weekend or select Saturday or Sunday (lunch included) if you cannot make the whole weekend. Training will finish at 3pm on Sunday 4 Feb (we must vacate the site by 4pm). You will need to bring your own (single) bed linen, pillow, towel, swimmers, sports clothes, running shoes & karate-gi/s. The training program includes different from normal dojo training and you can choose the session/s you want (equipment/numbers permitting). You can learn a non-SKIF kata, kata applications, weaponry (nunchaku, bokken, knife defence, etc.), meditation, happo kumite drills and much more.

Your Instructors have over 150 years of combined karate experience with: Zivko Delevski Kyoshi (8th Dan, previous multiple times Australian Team Member & experienced International Referee), plus Dr Hovik Keshishihan Sensei (7th Dan, double PhD: Human Movement & Exercise & Sports Science, bronze medallist in team kata at WUKO Asian Pacific All Styles), Ryan van Leent Sensei (6th Dan, Chair of the SKIA Referees Council & experienced International Referee) & David Rush Sensei (5th Dan, 3-times SKIF World Champs medallist, International Referee & Fitness Instructor).

This karate camp would make an excellent Christmas present or gift for the budding karate student or black belt but we recommend you book before Xmas to secure your spot as places are limited and registrations must be completed before 10 January. There will be no extension or late registration accepted so be quick and book now.

Tickets for the full weekend gasshuku include all training sessions, dormitory-style accommodation and all meals from dinner Friday evening to lunch on Sunday.

Day pass tickets include all training sessions for the selected day, and lunch for the selected day.

Attendees will be required to complete a registration form for the Berry Sport Centre prior to arriving at the facility.
