Event description

At the WOC Skill Collective, one of our key focus areas is to support, encourage, and empower women of colour through safe and inclusive professional skill development opportunities.

Speaking Up, Standing Firm is just that: an empowering, inspiring, and growth oriented panel discussion on the theme of self-advocacy.

Despite our unique professional strengths and strong experiences of working across different settings, as women of colour we are often slowed down by self-doubt, forced labels, and incorrect stereotypes.

We invite you to connect with and learn from leading women of colour working in diverse sectors and possessing strong professional skillsets. Through their personal stories, we will discuss strategies to overcome some of the barriers that prevent us from speaking up, setting boundaries, and being our authentic selves at work. With an opportunity to ask questions, network, and share stories, this event is sure to leave you feeling inspired, empowered, and supported.

We promise you an evening of enriching conversations, practical tips, honest dialogue and warm vibes...and, nibbles of course ;)

This event is specially curated for women of colour and/or women from migrant and culturally and racially marginalised backgrounds.

Think of it as an end of year gift to our precious community - you don't want to miss the invaluable takeaways from this one!
