🌟 Special Olympics WA – 2025 State Games 🌟
Opening Ceremony & Community Come & Try – Athletics & Bocce
Who:
Special Olympics is a global movement providing year-round sports programs for people with intellectual disabilities. We celebrate abilities, promote inclusion, and create opportunities for athletes to build confidence, have fun, and make lifelong friends.
What:
Kick off the 2025 State Games with an unforgettable Opening Ceremony (9am–11am) featuring:
Torch Relay and lighting of the cauldron
Come & Try “Playing for All” activities including mini golf and more.
Exclusive drink bottles – only available for collection at the Opening Ceremony
2nd Hand Uniform Tent – Bring along your old uniforms (must not have a holes or stains) to find a new home.
From 11:00am join us for the Community Come & Try and Athletics and Bocce Competitions:
Athletics events: walking, running, jumping, and throwing
Bocce events: rolling and target challenges
⚠️ Entry is open to anyone who would like to be involved. However, only athletes who meet eligibility criteria and are registered for competition events will be considered for selection.
⚠️ The Come & Try is not a qualifying event for the Special Olympics Australia National Games.
Every Come & Try participant will receive a participation medal and the joy of experiencing inclusive sport.

Community Come & Try: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Athletics & Bocce Competitions may continue to 3:00 PM
