Spice, Spirit & Story: Exploring Ethiopian Jewish Cuisine with Chef Barhany
Event description
Join us for an intimate morning conversation exploring "Gursha," the groundbreaking cookbook celebrating Ethiopian Jewish cuisine. Chef Beejhy Barhany will share a bit about her remarkable journey from Ethiopia to Harlem, her beloved restaurant Tsion Café, and about what went into making her new cookbook.
Gursha is an exploration of the rich culinary traditions of the Beta Israel community through more than 100 accessible recipes that blend Ethiopian and Jewish flavors. From traditional dishes like doro wot and shakshuka to Chef Barhany's innovative creations like Berbere Fried Fish and Injera Fish Tacos, this cookbook invites us to experience the act of "gursha" - feeding one another with love and generosity.
Light refreshments inspired by recipes from the book will be served. Copies of "Gursha" will be available for purchase and signing.
This class is not eligible for discount codes.
