Seeing The Forest And The Trees: Timeless Jewish Teachings For Navigating Life
Event description
This event is for anyone interested in analyzing life for the purpose of living it better—whether through self-exploration, therapy, or drawing on Jewish wisdom for personal growth. Led by Matthew Lowe, a licensed psychotherapist with over a decade of experience, we’ll explore insights from his self-help book Seeing the Forest and the Trees. The book grew out of a series of blog posts, where Matthew discovered recurring lessons he found himself repeating to clients. He will combine these repeated insights with timeless Jewish teachings to offer a robust framework for navigating the “forests” of language, limitation, emotion, time, relationships, and therapy. Together, we’ll learn how to appreciate both the big picture and the finer details of our lives, empowering you to truly make yourself at home in your own life.
Matthew Lowe is a licensed psychotherapist with a master’s degree in mental health counseling from William James College. He has practiced psychotherapy for over ten years at multiple substance abuse treatment centers, colleges, and private practice venues.
Before his current work, Matthew was a public school health educator and religious school philosophy teacher. He received a master’s degree in theological studies at Harvard Divinity School and bachelor’s degrees in philosophy at Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary.
Matthew is the Rebbetzin of Rabbi Naomi Zaslow at Beth El Congregation of Baltimore.
